Mount Elgon National Park is located in eastern Uganda, near the border with Kenya. The park covers an area of approximately 1,279 square kilometers (494 square miles) and encompasses the vast volcanic massif of Mount Elgon, which is the fourth highest mountain in East Africa, with a peak elevation of 4,321 meters (14,177 feet) at Wagagai Peak.
