Embark on an adventurous safari through Uganda’s western region, taking you to the remarkable Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in the districts of Kasese and Kamwenge. This safari offers a unique experience as you stand at the equator in Kayabwe, allowing you to be in two hemispheres at once. Enjoy an exciting game drive, a thrilling chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge, and an unforgettable boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, filled with breathtaking wildlife encounters.
After breakfast, pack your bags and set off for the western region of Uganda, home to many of the country's most exciting attractions. The drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park will take about 6-7 hours. Along the way, you'll stop at the equator for a quick stretch, refreshments, and some memorable photos. Afterward, you'll continue to Mbarara for lunch before heading straight to the park, where you'll start spotting wildlife.
Upon arrival, you can embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the cruise, you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive. Explore the park and spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, topis, bushbucks, Cape buffalos, Uganda kobs, Defassa waterbucks, and giant forest hogs.
After the game drive, you'll travel to Kibale Forest National Park, where you'll engage in chimp trekking the following day. Along the journey, enjoy views of the stunning Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the "Mountains of the Moon." Upon arrival in Kibale, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, proceed to the Kibale information center for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. Head into the forest, where you'll spend several hours tracking these remarkable primates. Expert guides will share fascinating details about the chimpanzees and their habitat. Along the way, you may also spot other primates like the grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys swinging through the trees.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before setting off for the Bigodi Swamp Walk. During this guided walk, you'll explore rich birdlife, including the great blue turaco, little bulbul, Rwenzori turaco, and Narina trogon, among many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
On your final day, enjoy an early breakfast before heading out for a nature walk in the forest. You’ll observe various monkey species and a rich variety of plant life. After the walk, return to the lodge for lunch, pack up, and begin your journey back to Kampala. You’ll arrive in the evening, in time for your flight home.
